Common names:

'Pigeon Weed'
' Spikenard'
'Wild Sasparilla'

The usefulness of this root harkens as far back as biblical times. It is used in Hoodoo to promote fidelity and to illicit proposals of marriage. Some people find that spikenard helps them to stay grounded, especially during rituals that might otherwise leave them feeling ‘spacey.’ When returning to one’s body after a trance journey it can be helpful for some to have a bag of spikenard root to connect with, to help bring them back into their body.
