Polygonatum Biflorum

Common name:

'Solomon's Seal'

Solomons Seal Root gets its name from the shape left on the ground after its stocks have withered away in the Fall, a shape in the form of a Star of David. Beyond being a symbol for Judaism, this six pointed star is used by ceremonial magicians who, like King Solomon of legend, seek to conjure spirits through ceremony and sigils. In addition to being known as a master magician, King Solomon was also said to be very wise, thus this root is said to help make one wiser. Additionally, because Solomon was renowned for his wisdom, this root is also said to bring a person acclaim for their endeavors.
